Services

Residential pest control services are available for all dwellings types in Singapore. Whether you are living in a HDB flat or staying in a private property, pest problems arise in all shapes and sizes. It is always a good idea to consult a professional whenever you feel that the pest issues in your home is getting out of hand.

Commercial pest control services are usually needed to meet the requirements set by local government agencies. For example, Food & Beverage businesses in Singapore are required to attain a pest control contract for inspections to be done minimally on a monthly basis, in order to apply for a license. Commercial services also include the provision of reporting services for audit compliance as well as monitoring purposes.

Pests are a resilient bunch and are adept at hiding and entering a home in places you would never think. A pest control professional will know where to look for pests and will implement best practices to prevent or eliminate pests. You can count on an NEA licensed pest professional to use pesticides for pest control. A professional can tell the difference between the common pests in Singapore and knows that each has its own prescribed methods of control. A thorough inspection by a professional can spot possible problems before they become serious and therefore limit the amount of products that need to be applied.

Bed Bugs

Bed bugs are small parasitic insects that feed on the blood of warm-blooded animals. They’re known as bed bugs because they are found on or near beds and other resting areas.

Although bed bugs have not been proven to transmit any disease, their bites can cause itchy welts on the skin and may lead to secondary infections.

Adult bed bugs grow 4-5 millimeters long and 1.5-3 millimeters wide (about the size of an apple seed), with a small head and larger oval-shaped body.

Newly hatched bed bug nymphs are tiny (1 millimeter) and cream colored. They are about the size of the letters on a penny.

Signs of bed bugs include bite symptoms, small brown spots (fecal spots) on bedding and small blood smears on sheets.

Small translucent bed bug eggs may be found in tucks and folds of the mattress and box spring, behind headboards, along baseboards and any other site bed bugs are hiding.

Bed bugs are mostly found where people like to rest or sleep.

About 70 percent of any bed bug infestation is associated with the bed and furniture, pictures and baseboards next to the bed. Bed bugs hide in cracks, folds, tucks and in and around these areas.

The second most common bed bug harborage is upholstered furniture, while a small percentage of any bed bug population may be scattered throughout a room.

At Protect Pest Control, we use residual spraying as our main method to eradicate infestations. This chemical treatment is safe yet effective in killing bed bugs as they will die instantly upon contact. The chemicals used are safe for humans and pets, do not leave stains and are NEA-approved. Our team of experts are trained to ensure that an infestation ends as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

All our Bed Bugs services come with our PROTECT Warranty which covers you for 7 days after the 2nd treatment. If bed bugs are found within these 7 days, our team will re-treat at no additional costs.

Bed bugs are notoriously difficult to control and eliminate. You should work with only recognized, reputable pest control professionals who have specific training and proven methods for dealing with bed bugs. It takes a comprehensive approach and years of experience to be successful against bed bugs.
